Top 10 Cars for Sale at the 2023 Concours of Elegance

Here are the beautiful cars that caught my attention at the Gooding and Company car auction sale at the 2023 Concours of Elegance.

Our video looks at all of the cars on sale, and what a collection of cars, Gooding and company had for sale.  Let us know if any particular car caught your attention in the comments below or on our YouTube channel.

As always, I have prioritised my top 10 in the order of which car I would most like to own and drive.

1. 1954 Ferrari 250 Europa

What an absolutely stunning car. I love the colour, it’s like a cream colour, which I’m sure has a specific Ferrari name. This Pininfarina designed Ferrari is exquisite. The estimated value was between £1.25 and £1.5 million.  SOLD FOR £1,518,750.

2. 1962 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster

Any of my regular followers will know that this is a car I absolutely adore. I think it’s pretty cool in cream with a burgundy interior. Expected sale price was between £1.3 million and £1.5 million. Ouch.  SOLD FOR £1.8m.  Wow.

.

3. 1993 Jaguar XJ220

As you probably know, this was the fastest road car when it hit the roads, and still a super fast car by todays standards. I think it’s an absolutely stunning car, and you are buying a part of history. This car had an estimated sale price of £400,000-£525,000.  DID NOT SELL. Oh dear.

.

4. 1955 Fiat 8V Berlinetta

What an absolutely stunning car. This has to be the most beautiful Fiat I’ve ever seen. Designed by Zagato, the Italian coach builder., that in my opinion always makes stunning or outlandish designs. I so want to have a Zagato designed car at some point. With an estimated sale price of between £1.5 and £2 million this has to be the most expensive Fiat in the world.  DID NOT SELL. Oh dear.

4. 1953 Ferrari 166MM/53 spider

What an absolutely beautiful car. A very rare car. Estimated sale price between £2.5 and £3 million. Ouch.  SOLD FOR £2,531,250. Bravo.

.

6. 1980 Ferrari 512 BB

I absolutely love the metallic blue of this Ferrari. Not a massive fan of two tone, but the two tone on this Ferrari is cool and works. Estimated sale price £150,000-£200,000.  SOLD FOR £141,750. NIce result for the purchaser. Bravo.

.

7. 1976 Ferrari 308 GTB Vetroresina

I absolutely love the Ferrari 308. I think it’s a very pretty car and probably the closest most of us will get to a Ferrart 288 GTO. I think it’s still a very good value for money Ferrari. This particular car had an estimated sale price between £75,000 and £100,000.  SOLD FOR £75,375.

8. 1957 Porsche 356 1500 GS Carrera Coupe

I love this colour of gold. I’ve never seen this colour on a Porsche. I’m sure it must be a one off commission. Anyway, the car is in absolutely mint condition. Beautiful. An estimated sale price of between £550,000 and £650,000.  DID NOT SELL. Doh!

.

9. 1955 Jaguar XK140 Drophead Coupe

Personally, I believe this is one of the most beautiful convertibles ever made. The Jaguar XK140. Beautiful lines. I quite like it in this navy blue with great interior. Beautiful condition. Estimated sale price was between £70,000 and £90,000. Tempting.  SOLD FOR £84,375. Bravo to the new owner.

.

10. 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce Alleggerita

I think this 1956 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce Alleggerita is a cool shape and a lovely colour. Very vibrant blue. I don’t know what it is about Alfa Romeo, but I love the logo and I love some of the cars. Though a fan of the new cars that much, except of course the 8C. Unfortunately I did not log the estimated sale price. IT DID NOT SELL.

.

So there you have it. 10 of the most beautiful cars in my opinion, offer for sale by Gooding & Co at the Concours of Elegance 2023. I now feel I have to work harder, as I don’t have enough money to buy any of them, at the moment.  I’ll keep on dreaming for now…
