Reasons This ‘Eleanor’ Mustang Became The Star Of Hampson’s Auction

Hampson’s auction at Bolesworth Castle on 9 March was a roaring success, with 80% of lots finding new owners. Leading the pack was a stunning 1967 Ford Mustang once owned by football icon Thierry Henry. This striking machine, an officially licensed ‘Eleanor’ replica from Gone in Sixty Seconds, fetched an impressive £140,625. With a growing team, expanding operations, and a second online Marketplace auction set for later this month, Hampson’s Auction is riding a wave of momentum in 2025.

The Star of the Show: Henry’s ‘Eleanor’ Mustang

Car enthusiasts at Bolesworth had their eyes on one prize – the ex-Thierry Henry Mustang. This isn’t just any 1967 Ford Mustang. It’s one of a select few officially licensed ‘Eleanor’ replicas. It also features the signature of Gone in Sixty Seconds producer Denise Halicki scrawled across the dashboard.

The Mustang’s appeal was undeniable at Hampson’s Auction. With its Hollywood heritage and celebrity ownership, the Mustang became the hottest lot of the auction. It attracted fierce bidding before selling for £140,625.

Performance and Prestige: Other Auction Highlights

2021 Audi RS6 Avant Carbon Vorsprung

The auction wasn’t just about American muscle. Right behind the Mustang was the blisteringly fast 2021 Audi RS6 Avant Carbon Vorsprung. This 803bhp powerhouse, capable of a sub-three-second 0-60mph sprint, went under the hammer at No Reserve. It secured a final price of £68,625.

Another standout at Hampson’s Auction was the striking 1972 De Tomaso Pantera. This bright yellow head-turner, also offered at No Reserve, commanded a respectable £63,000.

Marketplace Auctions: Supporting The Joshua Tree Charity

Hampson’s new Marketplace platform is already making a difference. A portion of the hammer price from each lot sold in these premium online timed auctions goes to The Joshua Tree. This is a Cheshire-based charity helping families affected by childhood cancer.

The first Hampson’s Auction sale in January generated £1,134.40 for the cause, with Hampson’s Managing Director, Zach Hamilton, presenting the charity’s first donation cheque. As Marketplace auctions gain traction, contributions will grow. The next sale runs from 28 March to 6 April, with entries now open at www.hampsonauctions.com.

Hampson’s Growing Strength

To sustain its upward trajectory, Hampson’s has strengthened its team. Three car specialists, a motorbike consultant, and two operations experts have joined the company, ensuring it is well-equipped for its busiest year yet.

Zach Hamilton shared his excitement after Hampson’s Auction on 9 March: “Selling 80% of the lots is a tremendous achievement. We’ve consistently increased our sales percentages since 2024, and it’s fantastic to see that trend continue. The success of our Marketplace auctions and our ability to give back to The Joshua Tree makes this all the more rewarding. With our second Marketplace sale just around the corner and a return to Bolesworth on 4 May, 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year.”

What’s Next for Hampson’s?

With another Marketplace sale launching this month and a return to Bolesworth Castle on 4 May, Hampson’s momentum shows no signs of slowing. Whether you’re looking to buy, sell, or simply admire some of the world’s most desirable cars, now is the time to get involved.
