Our Review of the 2021 Concours of Elegance

The 10th Concours of Elegance took place at the Hampton Court Palace on 3rd to 5th Sept 2021. It was a truly wonderful day, a wonderful event, like no other in the UK. Certainly there are few events that I know of where you can see such unique and rare cars. Is always surprises me that I always see several cars for the first time, and believe me I have seen a lot of different cars in my lifetime. 81 of the rarest cars from around the world – many of which had never been seen before in the UK were in attendance. New for 2021 was a new category “30 under 30 class” for those next generation of car enthusiasts.

A big well done to the organisers for hosting such a glorious event and what a wonderful event it was. Very luckily the day we attended, VIPs and Media was a dry day, and over the years we and the show have been luck that in the large part the event has been dry. Rain only happening once or twice. Anyway, enough about the weather (boring) and more about the cars (very cool). The 2021 show was another epic event, no disappointments, there never are. Here’s one of the videos that we took on the day (see below), more can be seen on our Concours of Elegance YouTube playlist and our Instagram account.

The ‘Best in Show’ award, voted by the owners of the Concours of Elegance cars, went to the 1934 Avions Voisin Type C27 Aerosport owned by Merle and Peter Mullin. Exhibiting glorious Art Deco styling, this is just one of two Aerosports built.

We took a walk around the show, which you can see below, unfortunately many of the concours cars had yet to arrive, but the video gives you a feel for the event and ambience.

There are always so many cars that we love. It’s very hard to narrow down just a selection of favourites for any top 10 that we put together, however, as always, we managed to put together our top 10 favourite cars from the show which you can see here. So many more cars and not enough time to detail them all.

We took over 100 photos on the day and multiple videos. You can see all of our photos on our concours of elegance Facebook album here and all of our videos on our YouTube channel here.

We came across this newly finished Ferrari 330 LM, which had taken four years to put together by Bell sports and classic for the owner of Bell sports and classic. This really was a truly exceptional, and beautiful car (below).

We also spotted this supercar that looked very much like a Lamborghini Huracan but with different bodywork. i’m enquiring with the marketing lady of the design company involved in the bodywork it was clarified that it was indeed a Lambo Lamborghini Huracan that was the vision of the owner to amend the bodywork to try and get the car to achieve 300 mph. You have to give the owner respect for one to chop up a Lamborghini Huracan a perfectly beautiful well engineered supercar and secondly for having the balls to try and drive a car 300 mph, whether he achieves that or not time will tell. Here’s a selection of our photos of the car.

Anyway enough rambling from me, I hope you enjoyed our review, our photos and our videos and if you do see us around, do come and have a chat and say hi. This was a great event as always, where we met new friends and caught up with old ones, spoke to the owners of these exotic and exquisite cars, spoke to other like-minded car enthusiasts and just had a great day out. We now look forward to the London Concours in the summer of 2022 and as soon as dates are announced this event will be firmly fixed in our diary.
