Our top 10 cars from the Concours of Elegance 2020
The 9th Concours of Elegance took place at the Hampton Court Palace on 4-6th Sept 2020. It was a true delight that this event took place given so many events in 2020 have been cancelled due to Covid-19 and social distancing guidelines. 60 of the rarest cars from around the world – many of which had never been seen before in the UK were in attendance.
A big well done to the organisers for getting this event on and what a wonderful event it was. Here are our top 10 cars from the show. These are our choices based on the cars we’d most like to own, drive or have in the my car heaven car collection.
1954 Maserati 250F ex-works
My favourite racing car of all time, period and one of the cars I’d most like to drive. Open top, raw, purposeful and dangerous if you do not respect it.
1996 McLaren F1 GTR
If you ever see a McLaren F1 at a show, it just has to be up there as one, if not the best car you’ll have the privilege to see. A truly sensational car and masterpiece. Believe it or not this car has been converted to road legal. Imagine this driving past you on the road, nuts. Here’s our video of this car.
McLaren Speedtail
Wow. Just wow. Another McLaren masterclass to follow the McLaren F1 and McLaren P1.
2018 Ford GT
I just love this car. In yellow, awesome.
Ford GT40
This is an awesome, desirable, and iconic car, and with this colour combination, on a sunny day it just was immense. Love it.
Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada (Fiskens)
I love the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Strada, rare, low, noisy and purposeful, everything I love about a sports car.
Ferrari 275 GTB (Fiskens)
In yellow, beautiful colour, beautiful design, it’s a Ferrari, what’s not to love? Super cool.
1938 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante Coupe by Gangloff
Just look at it. Stunning. Love the two tone colour paint work and of course in immaculate condition, oh and it’s a Bugatti.
2018 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta
Super rare (only 210 made), super purposeful and very nice looking.
1997 Porsche 911 GT1 Evolution (4)
Which car lover/ racing driver would not love to drive this? Epic.
Other beauties that caught my eye:
McLaren GT
What a cool supercar. Has to be one of the coolest and most practical modern GTs.
1958 Jaguar XK150 S Coupe by Bertone (35)
This is a stunning Jaguar. Immaculate. Loads of chrome. A headturner for sure.
1904 FIAT 24/32 Open Tourer (6)
As far as we know only 5 still survive. Love cars like this. Loads of bright work. Car art.
