Thanks for the review Stewart. Great to hear you had such a great time. Next up the London Classic Car Show and Race Retro.
What a great show – I’ve been to a few different car shows at NEC but this was my first to the Autosport International. I took my 8 yo son who loved seeing the F1 grid line up (only Sauber and Manor missing – presumably for logistical and financial reasons respectively).
Our highlight though was the live action arena show where cars from different racing series staged short races or demonstrations – interspersed with the ever-popular stunt driver Terry Grant terrifying Youtuber Shmee with donuts and power slides. He also performed a loop the loop with passenger.
In the show halls there were a number of stages where we saw “Morecambe Missile” John McGuinnes, Clare Williams, Jacques Villeneuve, Gordon Sheddon, Rob Smedley and others. On the stands themselves just about every race series was represented, along with many of the teams, manufacturers and suppliers. If you had the right shopping list you could buy your own race car one piece at a time!
The Performance Car Show was also included which showed off many of the latest supercars including DB11 and Ford GT.
I took quite a few photos on my iPhone but few are worth sharing as the lighting cast an odd yellow tinge to everything. Maybe I’ll take a proper camera next time.
Once again, thank you very much for the tickets – it was a great way to spend an otherwise very wet day.
Can’t wait to see those photos Doug and your thoughts on the event.
Hope you enjoy.
Thank you very much, I can’t wait. I will take loads of photos and send them through if I can.
You are most welcome Stewart. It should be a cracking event. Let us have your thoughts post-event and any highlights.
That’s fantastic – my son will be thrilled – and I might be just a bit excited too! Thank you.
