5 lucky readers can win a pair of tickets to EcoVelocity

My Car Heaven has teamed up with the low-carbon motor show EcoVelocity to offer 5 lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to this green motoring extravaganza.

EcoVelocity is a dynamic festival of eco-motoring packed with the very latest, no compromise, hi-tech and ultra low-carbon vehicles.  The 4-day event runs from Thursday 8th September to Sunday 11th September 2011 and will be staged in the grounds of the iconic Battersea Power Station (pending planning and licensing permission).

EcoVelocity will see car makers showcase their latest green models and will include electric, hybrid and cars with very low emissions – often exempt from paying car tax and congestion charging zones.  Each car maker will allow interested visitors to get hands on their new technology cars by offering test drives on a specially constructed circuit.

Market leading brands attending the event include Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, SEAT, Toyota, Lexus, Vauxhall, Volvo, Volkswagen and Mia Electric.

A highlight of the show for many car enthusiasts is likely to be the Green Supercar Paddock, an exhibition of green supercars such as the Tesla Roadster and Bluebird Electric completely disproving the myth that being green is dull.

Visitors will be able to try out the latest eco-friendly cars on a specially constructed track in the shadow of the famous power station.

EcoVelocity is tipped to be one of the most fun, interactive and educational days out with opportunities for all of the family, including:

The ‘SEAT young drivers’ programme for 11-16 year olds;

The ‘Honda my first license’ introduction to motorcycling for young children;

The What Car? catwalk parade – presenting the best eco cars in each category;

The Green Supercar Paddock (I’m especially looking forward to this one!);

The Eco-Lab – the science behind eco-motoring.

Event partners include Metro, What Car?, TfL, The Mayor of London, Smooth Radio, Source London, Get On and Green Fleet.

To win tickets to EcoVelocity simply let us know in the comments section below: what you feel the Eco car of the future will look and feel like and what will be its power source.

Looks like this will be a great event.  I am certainly intrigued and will be attending, so I’ll report back.

    Alice,
    Interesting points raised. I saw some lovely concept cars by Citroen, Peugeot (maybe Renault in their flagship showrooms off the Champs-Élysées a few years back. It would just be nice if they became reality and these cars were super safe and practical (mileage).

    I just hope the cars of the future can retain the soul of the car for those that love driving. In theory I would love an eco friendly car, but I also love the rumble of a great engine, which I fear you can only get with Electric cars by computer aided means.

    The Fisker Karma really appeals to me, but wow the cost is eye watering.

    About those tickets to EcoVelocity. How many would you like?

    Maybe the Eco car of the future will be powered by electromagnetic wheels and looks anthropomorphic, futuristic but not aggressive. I dislike aggressive cars!
