The Coolest Movie Cars Ever!

Now in line with this website’s theme I am mainly going to look at beautiful, iconic, desirable or cool cars.  So there will no doubt be some omissions, such as 1981 Delorean from the Back to the Future series, or 1963 Volkswagen Beetle from the Herbie series, or 1970 Dodge Challenger from Death Proof and Vanishing Point, or 1976 AMC Pacer from Wayne’s World.

For me I will put them in order, let me know what you think of my list.  What order would you put them?

1964 Lamborghini Muira
Film: Italian Job

1980 Lamborghini Countach
Film: Cannonball Run

Aston Martin DB5
Films: Various James Bond films

Shelby Mustang
Film: Gone in 60 seconds

Lotus Esprit

1967 Pontiac GTO

Ferrari 250 GT California
Film: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Aston Martin DBS

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
Film: Dazed and Confused (1993)

1973 Ford Gran Torino
Film: Gran Torino

The Mach 5

    Owen,

I agree, there can always be more cars and car chases. For me the most memorable cars in a movie were the Mini Coopers in the original Italian job. Of course we also loved the Lamborghini Muira, who wouldn’t.

    Rory,

I like the Camaro, but I imagine it is a difficult drive on any non-straight road. I assume the nightmare to own is due to expense to run?

  • This is a great car to drive, but a nightmare to own
