Win a pair of tickets to the wonderful Donington Historic Festival 2013

In 2011 and 2012 the race action at the Donington Historic Festival saw more than 300 historic racing cars from the 1920s to the 1980s, battling for victory. There were Group C Le Mans sports cars, GT40‘s and Ferrari GTO‘s, Touring Cars from the 70’s and 80’s, pre-War Bentley‘s, Bugatti‘s and Alfa Romeo‘s and much, much more.

As well as watching these icons fight it out on track, spectators can wander round the race paddocks, enjoying free access and getting up close to the cars and stars. Really close.

Plus there’s always plenty of off-track attractions and live action – including legendary Group B rally cars, historic karts, autojumble and memorabilia stalls, cafés, bars and food outlets – and extensive club displays of classic cars.

Now in its third year and with an exciting three-day format you can expect more of the same for 2013, as well as plenty of new attractions, and the organisers are busy putting together another packed programme.  Once again they are aiming to keep ticket prices well below the usual cost of top-quality historic motor sport weekends, as the organisers want to continue to offer all the thrills of the top, established events, but at a family friendly price – and at arguably the best spectator circuit in the country.

    Martin,

I hear you. I started taking my boy when he was 5. This will be his 3rd Donington. He loves it.

Haven’t been to Donington’s Historic since the Bernie Debacle. So glad they’re getting back on their feet as its a lovely circuit with a cosy feel.

Last time I went we parked in the infield and had a picnic which felt terribly retro. Just love you could sit in your car and see half the racetrack and it’s such a compact track it’s easy to walk to whole lot.

The 1993 Grand Prix was the race that turned me from a casual TV viewer into certified racing nut, just cannot conceive how twenty years have passed so quickly. Sadly that race does now seem like a different era and the tracks that Bernie now prefers just don’t have the atmosphere that Donington does *old person rant now endeth*

I’d love to visit Donington Park for this Historic Festival. I really appreciate the cars of yesteryear and it is nice to still see these beautiful vehicles being driven and raced around such an iconic race-track today. I love my modern F1 and BTCC but its only when you see the Historics that you really appreciate “how motorsport used to be in the good old days”

Being able to go to Donington (which is my local track as well) would be truly amazing experience for me 🙂

    Hi,

I found out about this event last year and it sounded just up my street and I have noticed there is a Senna theme this year, my son loves F1 and saw the Senna movie last year he thought it was great I would love to take him along with me to see some of the cars he raced. So a pair of tickets would be just great.

    Cheers
    Mark
