5 Beautiful Aston Martins That Celebrate the Brand’s Golden Era

Aston Martin is turning back the clock in the most stylish way possible. Aston Martin Newport Beach has teamed up with Q by Aston Martin to create five one-of-one Heritage Edition sports cars. As a result, each car revives a memorable paint colour from the marque’s celebrated 1960s and 1970s era, while also bringing that historic character into the modern day.

The collection combines historic colours with some of Aston Martin’s newest sports cars. As a result, classic British design meets modern performance and craftsmanship.

Available exclusively through Aston Martin Newport Beach, the five Heritage Edition models are based on the 2027 model-year DB12, DB12 Volante, Vanquish, Vantage and Vantage Roadster.

Five Aston Martins, Five Historic Colours

The concept is refreshingly simple. Take a famous colour from Aston Martin’s past, recreate it using modern paint technology and apply it to a contemporary sports car.

Q by Aston Martin’s design team then adds a series of bespoke touches inside each cabin.

Every Heritage Edition features:

• A revived historic Aston Martin exterior colour
• Q perforated fluted seats
• Q Heritage Aston Martin logo embroidery on the centre armrest
• Exclusive Heritage Edition sill plaques
• Bespoke interior finishes
• Dark Walnut Open Pore Wood Inlays on the DB12, DB12 Volante and Vanquish

The result is a collection with a clear link to Aston Martin’s history, yet none of the cars feels trapped in the past.

Jeff West, General Manager of Aston Martin Newport Beach, says the project brings historic colours together with the marque’s latest sports cars.

That approach also highlights what makes Q by Aston Martin so appealing. Customers can move beyond standard factory choices and work with the brand’s designers to create highly individual cars.

Aston Martin DB12 Volante: Pale Primrose

The DB12 Volante wears Pale Primrose, a colour with a fascinating place in Aston Martin history.

The shade appeared on the cover of a 1958 DB4 sales brochure. It later featured on a Corgi Aston Martin model, which helped inspire the famous DB5 toy associated with James Bond during the 1960s.

Today, the colour gives the DB12 Volante a particularly elegant appearance.

Under the bonnet sits a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 671bhp. As Aston Martin’s open-top Super Tourer, the Volante combines strong performance with the appeal of roof-down driving.

It is a clever match for Pale Primrose. Both have a distinctly glamorous character.

Aston Martin DB12: Pacific Blue

The Heritage Edition DB12 receives Pacific Blue, another colour with deep Aston Martin roots.

Originally offered on the DB4, Pacific Blue later appeared on the DB5 and DB6. Q by Aston Martin recreated the shade after studying an original Pacific Blue sample from a historic DB6 colour configuration brochure.

The result gives the modern DB12 a direct visual connection with Aston Martin’s grand touring heritage.

The DB12 uses the same 671bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 as the Volante. However, its fixed-roof body gives the car a different character.

Pacific Blue suits that role perfectly. It brings a subtle dose of 1960s style to one of Aston Martin’s most contemporary models.

Aston Martin Vanquish: Tudor Green

For the flagship Vanquish, Aston Martin has selected Tudor Green.

The metallic finish became strongly associated with the marque during the 1970s. On today’s Vanquish, it works particularly well with the car’s long bonnet, broad stance and muscular proportions.

The Vanquish is powered by a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 producing 824bhp. Its 214mph top speed also places it firmly at the top of Aston Martin’s front-engined sports car range.

Tudor Green adds a more restrained character to those serious performance credentials.

It is an old-school colour on a very modern flagship.

Aston Martin Vantage: Winchester Blue

The Vantage Coupe takes a more performance-focused approach with Winchester Blue.

Named after the historic Hampshire city, the colour formed part of Aston Martin’s collection of British town-inspired finishes during the 1970s.

It also became closely associated with the V8 Vantage. Bringing it back for the current Vantage therefore feels like a particularly natural choice.

The modern Vantage produces 656bhp from its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8. Moreover, its compact proportions and sharper driving character make it the sporting choice within the Heritage Edition collection. As a result, it brings a more dynamic character to this exclusive line-up.

Winchester Blue gives that character a distinctly British twist.

Aston Martin Vantage Roadster: Mink Silver

Completing the five-car collection is the Vantage Roadster in Mink Silver.

The colour takes inspiration from the pale metallic finishes offered on the DB6 during the 1960s. More than 100 DB6 examples were reportedly finished in Mink, helping make it an important part of the model’s history.

The modern interpretation brings that elegant silver tone to Aston Martin’s open-top Vantage.

Like the Coupe, the Roadster produces 656bhp from its twin-turbocharged V8. However, its electrically operated folding roof adds another dimension to the driving experience.

Mink Silver is arguably the most understated colour in the collection. Yet that restraint may also make it one of the most appealing.

Q by Aston Martin Brings the Past Forward

The Heritage Edition sports cars collection demonstrates how Q by Aston Martin can turn historical inspiration into something genuinely contemporary.

Rather than simply reproducing old colours, the design team has recreated them for modern cars using current paint technology. The bespoke interior details then give each car its own identity.

That matters because personalisation has become an increasingly important part of the luxury car market. Aston Martin’s Q service allows customers to explore colours, materials, finishes and bespoke details beyond the standard specification.

Previous Q creations have shown how far that philosophy can go, from distinctive limited editions to highly individual commissions.
