Unmissable Reasons Concours des Légendes 2026 Will Be the Most Exciting Car Event of the Year

A fresh take on the traditional concours arrives this summer. Set against the elegant backdrop of Wilton House, the inaugural Concours des Légendes promises something far richer than polished bodywork alone.

Instead of static displays, this new event shifts the focus to the people who shaped automotive history. As a result, visitors can expect insight, storytelling, and rare access to industry icons.

A Concours with a Difference

Concours des Légendes - Book Signings.

Concours des Légendes runs from 19-21 June 2026. However, it breaks away from the usual lawn-lined format.

Rather than simply admiring cars, attendees will hear directly from the drivers, designers, and engineers behind them. Through live talks, curated displays, and expert-led panels, each car gains context and meaning.

Consequently, the event feels more like a live documentary than a traditional show.

David Lillywhite, the event’s content curator, sums it up clearly: the focus is on decisions, risks, and stories. In other words, it’s about what truly brings these machines to life.

Legends Stage: Icons Take the Mic

Concours des Légendes - Literary Stage.

The first wave of speakers reads like a who’s who of motorsport and design. Importantly, these are individuals who didn’t just witness history – they helped create it.

Headline Appearances

  • Derek Bell and Richard Attwood
Together, they will revisit the challenge of mastering the formidable Porsche 917. Their stories will cover one of endurance racing’s toughest eras, including Porsche’s breakthrough victory at Le Mans.
  • Valentino Balboni
A defining figure at Lamborghini, Balboni spent decades refining some of the brand’s most iconic models. Expect insights spanning the Lamborghini Miura to the Lamborghini Gallardo.
  • Stefan Johansson
Known for his time with Ferrari and McLaren, Johansson will appear both on stage and in the art exhibition, showcasing his bold motoring artwork.

Design Masters Join In

Concours des Légendes also welcomes leading automotive designers, including:

  • Peter Stevens
  • Frank Stephenson
  • Wayne Burgess
  • Ken Okuyama

More names are expected, adding further depth to an already impressive line-up.

The Setting: Wilton House

Wilton House

Few venues suit an event like this better than Wilton House. Home to William Herbert, 18th Earl of Pembroke, the estate is one of England’s most distinguished country houses.

Visitors will also gain access to its renowned art collection. Notably, this access is exclusive during the event, as the house will not be open to the general public at other times in 2026.

As a result, the setting feels both intimate and special.
