Maserati MCXtrema Joins One of the World’s Finest Car Collections

At Maserati’s historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant, a place where passion and precision have lived side by side for nearly 90 years, a new chapter in the Trident story was written. The Italian marque delivered one of its most exclusive creations – the Maserati MCXtrema – to Jacques Sicotte, a French nuclear engineer and entrepreneur whose garage already reads like a greatest-hits list of motoring history.

Sicotte, who owns more than 60 rare collector’s cars including the legendary Maserati MC12, has now added Maserati’s latest track-only marvel to his fleet – a car that embodies everything the brand stands for: power, artistry, and Italian flair.

A Collector’s Dream with a Personal Touch

For the unveiling, Sicotte travelled to Modena to see his bespoke MCXtrema for the first time. Handed over in the same facility where every Maserati dream begins, the moment was steeped in history and emotion.

This particular MCXtrema stands out even among its 61 siblings. Built under the MCXlusiva programme, it wears a two-tone matte blue and pearl-white livery – an elegant nod to the iconic MC12 Stradale. The bonnet bears an oversized Trident, while the doors carry the collector’s lucky number 77.

Inside, deep blue tones dominate. A passenger seat kit, rear-view camera, and telemetry system were added at Sicotte’s request – touches that transform this track machine into a truly personal work of art. Every detail reflects collaboration between Maserati’s designers and the owner himself, uniting engineering precision with Italian craftsmanship.

Performance Born for the Circuit

The Maserati MCXtrema isn’t road-legal – and that’s entirely the point. It’s a car designed purely for the track, sculpted for speed, and honed for control.

  • Power: 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine producing 740 CV (540 kW)
  • Origin: Derived from Maserati’s acclaimed Nettuno power unit
  • Purpose: Exclusive, uncompromising track performance

This is the most powerful track car Maserati has ever built. Engineers invested over 1,000 hours of virtual simulation and 200 hours in the dynamic simulator, ensuring every curve and contour delivers precision performance.

Engineers meticulously tuned the aerodynamics to adapt to different circuit configurations, proving that beauty and function can indeed coexist perfectly. The result? A car that merges extreme performance with the timeless allure of Italian design.

From Development to Delivery

Maserati Chief Test Driver Andrea Bertolini, a four-time GT World Champion, personally handed over the keys. Bertolini has been part of the MCXtrema’s journey from concept to completion – guiding it through testing, simulator sessions, and on-track fine-tuning.

For Sicotte, receiving the car from a driver who once dominated GT racing in the MC12 added a layer of meaning. It was not simply a delivery – it was a meeting of two Maserati eras: the MC12’s legendary past and the MCXtrema’s exhilarating present.

The MCXperience: Beyond Ownership

Owning an MCXtrema means joining a very exclusive club. Maserati created the MCXperience, a tailored programme giving owners exclusive access to track days, expert coaching, and personalised technical support.

At the centre of this is the MCXperience Concierge, providing one-to-one service and bespoke driving experiences. Each owner also receives a special racing kit, developed with Sparco, featuring high-performance gear for comfort, safety, and complete immersion in the Maserati racing world.

This is not simply ownership – it’s participation in Maserati’s most exclusive motorsport ecosystem.

The Spirit of Maserati in Motion

The MCXtrema represents the pinnacle of Maserati’s current engineering philosophy: daring design, relentless innovation, and pure Italian character.

Built in only 62 units, every car symbolises the Trident’s rebirth in the performance arena. From the craftsmanship at Viale Ciro Menotti to the roar of the Nettuno engine, the MCXtrema connects past and present with breathtaking effect.

A Legacy Reimagined

For Jacques Sicotte, the MCXtrema is a bridge between Maserati’s racing past and its bold future. Sitting beside his MC12, it tells a story of evolution, excellence, and enduring passion for performance.

Final Thoughts

Maserati continues to remind the world that its heart beats for speed, style, and sophistication. The Maserati MCXtrema is proof that when art meets engineering, the result can be nothing short of extraordinary.

So, what do you think of Maserati’s latest masterpiece?
Would you choose a bespoke track-only car over a road-ready supercar?
And which Trident model – past or present – would you want parked in your dream garage?
