Ottocast MINI – declutter your car of cables forever!
Today we had the opportunity to check out the Ottocast MINI, the hot new wireless adapter. This device, simple to install (more on that later), works across both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
If you are anything like me, I have been sick and tired of cables cluttering up my car, especially when my wife, who has a different cable, switches it out for hers. It makes the cab area busy, clogged and visually distracting, so when we got wind of this opportunity, I needn’t be asked twice.
I like to offer a rounded review of products that we look at such as packaging, styling, setup, simplicity, and affordability. I have an iPhone, so my review only covers CarPlay, but from what we could see, the experience is very similar.
Packaging / Styling
The Ottocast Mini comes in some strong, premium packaging, and the product itself comes well packed and secure. The adapter comes with different connectors based on your USB connection requirements, which is helpful.
Setup
Now, this has to be the easiest process ever. The process took a few mere seconds, and couldn’t be easier. Firstly Isimply plugged in the adapter to the car’s USB slot, and then went to my phone’s Bluetooth where the adapter popped up immediately. After selecting it, the screen on my car’s dash immediately showed the wireless CarPlay display. Very impressive.
Affordability
Given the premium feel, superior quality of the Ottocast, compared to others in the market, this product currently at time of writing retails at approximately $89 USD, which feels like good value. It feels durable, and although I have only had it a few days, when I factor in my whole experience, feel, and reliability of connection, I feel it is hard to look past the Ottocast.
