40 Years & 330 Clubs Strong: The Classic Motor Show Revs Up for 2024

The checkered flag has dropped on the 2024 NEC Classic Motor Show, and it’s a record-breaker. This year, the UK’s premier classic car event celebrates its ruby anniversary with a truly historic turnout. Get set as we take a victory lap through the highlights.

Club Mania: A Celebration of Automotive Passion

The NEC halls are about to be positively overflowing with automotive passion. This year, a staggering 330 car clubs have been invited to exhibit their pride and joy, smashing last year’s record. That’s a whopping 364 applications vying for a spot, with 44 clubs making their NEC debut!

Show Director Lee Masters isn’t surprised by the enthusiasm. “We wanted to offer more clubs the chance to share their cars with our audience, and we’ve delivered,” he says. “It meant some creative space planning, but ensuring everyone gets a chance to showcase their club and marque was paramount.”

We couldn’t agree more! The NEC Classic Motor Show is a gathering of like-minded enthusiasts, a chance to connect with fellow marque devotees, and celebrate the rich history of motoring.

Familiar Faces and Fresh Debuts

Classic car veterans like the MG Car Club, Jensen Owners Club, and TR Drivers Club will be returning, having graced the NEC stage since the very first show in 1984. But the future is here too, with the Young Retro Motor Club, Mini 40 Register, and Air Cooled Are Us bringing a fresh perspective and showcasing the enduring appeal of more modern classics.

Milestones on the Track: Celebrating Automotive Icons

This year’s NEC will also be a celebration of automotive anniversaries. The legendary Rover marque will be turning 120, sharing the spotlight with MG’s centenary in Hall 3. Across the hall, the Mustang Owners Club will be showcasing the iconic pony car’s 60th year, while the British Mini Club and others will be raising a glass to 65 years of the ever-popular Mini. Fiat fans can also join the party, with the Fiat Motor Club (G.B.) and Fiat Panda Club celebrating the Italian marque’s 125th anniversary.
