Michigan, America’s “Motor City,” birthed the Mustang legend in 1964. This was a revolution; its sleek, long-hooded design and accessible power defied convention, spawning a new breed – the “pony car.”

The Mustang’s impact transcended asphalt. It became a pop culture phenomenon, starring alongside Steve McQueen in “Bullitt” and belting out its name in Wilson Pickett’s chart-topping song, “Mustang Sally.”

From Pony to Powerhouse

Initially offered as a coupe and convertible, the Mustang family quickly welcomed the sporty fastback variant. For the true petrolheads, the legendary Carroll Shelby collaborated with Ford, creating the monstrous 300+ horsepower Shelby GT-350.

The Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain and Northwest Stangs are already mustering their ranks, and a special “Mustang Celebration Package” welcomes all Mustang enthusiasts to join the party.
