Aznom Palladium is the the new Italian hyper-limo
A full meter longer and 100mm taller than the Range Rover Vogue the Palladium is not a vehicle designed to blend in. It also spins the dial on the scales to a point 300kg heavier than the Rangie. Little wonder, then, that the humongous 5.7litre V8 engine has two BorgWarner turbos strapped to it and a double air-to-water intercooler setup to match.
Aside from the turbochargers, there are a few other technical developments under the bonnet: The pistons have been modified through the installation of forged components, the steel H-beam rods are completely new while the valve springs have been reinforced – the valves are now made of nimonic. Camshaft and driveshaft have also been rebalanced. The head gasket is trimetallic, as are the high-performance slide bearings. The Italian company also added more powerful injectors and ARP bolts (Automotive Racing Products) have been used throughout the vehicle.
The engine is now capable of producing 710hp (522 kw), and pushes the Palladium form 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds to a maximum limited speed of 210 km/h. It can also work in Fuel Saver mode with just 4 cylinders operating. The car has been lowered by 30 mm from the original setup, new shock absorbers have been manufactured exclusively for the Palladium and are said to work in 30 different configurations. The braking system is completely new with forward ventilated discs measuring 408 x 34 mm coupled with Brembo six piston calipers, while at the back the four piston calipers work with 380 x 28 mm discs.
