Ferrari 458 Italia v Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale

Love Ferrari’s or perhaps even undecided on your next supercar purchase? You’ve come to the right place. Will Wynn, founder and owner of My Car Heaven has provided a helpful and insightful comparison of the Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale to the Ferrari 458 Italia.

Let’s kick off by saying neither will disappoint, and actually far from it. Both are iconic, rare, and majestic machines. But the similarities stop there. 

“From my perspective, with any new car the objective is to make the car better than previous versions, and the 458 does this with abundance. The Ferrari 458 Italia is a wonderful car, that there is no doubt. 

I was lucky enough to be offered the chance to drive the car around Millbrook testing ground. The 458 is highly usable in today’s world, it could be your everyday car – it’s that usable. The 458 is certainly a looker and it would certainly be a car I would consider if I were buying a Ferrari now. You can pick up at 458 currently for about £120,000 to £150,000.

The only thing about the 458 that I personally don’t like is the car is for the PlayStation generation with all of its settings and buttons on the steering wheel etc.

Personally the 360 Challenge Stradale is the car for me, it’s the loudest Ferrari I’ve ever heard, it’s a pure drivers car, no technology to help the driver, and you have to have your wits about you at all times, and I have a smile on my face when I look at it, drive it. I bought a Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale in 2008 and chose this car over the Ferrari F430. It’s unlikely I’ll ever sell it. It’s definitely undervalued at circa £200k if a Ferrari F40 is £1 million. The Ferrari F40 is not five times better.”
