We have the Classic Motor Show up next, and Autosport International after that.
My dream garage. So difficult for any car but like me. I’ll mix it up with 3 different types of car, a hyper car, a Supercar and a classic car.
The Hypercar
I’d go for a Pagani Zonda. Just mental, beautiful, and very limited.
The Supercar
I’d have to go for a Ferrari here, and it would have to be the Ferrari F40. Hardcore and beautiful.
The Classic Car
I’d go for a De Tomasso Pantera. Rare, loud and very very cool.
So many great and wonderful cars out there and for those special days it would have to be a Lamborghini Muira P400s, maybe the first supercar. It has sublime lines and the mid engine layout, albeit transverse, and it more or less started the supercar move into mid-engines. And who can’t forget the dulcit tones of Matt Monroe singing ‘In days like this’ in the opening scene of ‘The Italian Job’ with the Muira sweeping around the stunning Italian Alps…….that journey just has to be on my bucket list!
For everyday use a new Porsche Targa 4 – I’ve always had a soft spot for the 911, maybe not stunner but Its something which can be driven with reasonable ease on our narrowish roads, whilst allowing a bit of wind in your hair plus a bit of space for the shopping.
There has to be a convertible somewhere and I know there’s a few around these days, but the sweet 6 pot burble from an Aston Martin DB6 Volante is a great noise and what a great British Classic.
My dream garage would be :
Porsche 356 Outlaw- my favourite of all the vintage Porsches, with the smoothest lines, and effortless cool.
Singer Porsche 911-classic Porsche looks, but with a modern twist.
McLaren P1- futuristic looks combined with cutting edge engineering
We would love to go to this event – just down the road from us as well…
My dream garage would have a supercar – Ferrari 458 (in grey!), a 1963 Mercedes SL 300 cabriolet (saw a turquoise one of these at Salon Privé once and fell in love!), and an Aston Martin DB11 as my daily car!
