Postcard from the 2018 London Concours
I could not make it to the first ever London Concours held in 2017, so made an effort to get to the 2018 event. It’s main event the Concours of Elegance (win a pair of tickets here) is a DO NOT MISS event, so we had to get to the London Concours. It did not disappoint. A late start to this event with gates opening at 10am. We attended on the Friday. The venue: The HAC. This is the London home of the Honourable Artillery Company, a charity incorporated by Henry VIII in 1537 whose primary charitable purpose is the support of the Regiment which bears its name. The HAC Estate consists of Armoury House, an 18th Century mansion brimming with the Company’s long and rich history, the Prince Consort Rooms which is a stylish, modern juxtaposition to Armoury House and the stunning five acre Artillery Garden. The London Concours was situated in the beautiful gardens.
We took a walk around the venue first up, and did a walk around video highlighting several of the cars that caught our attention. You can check that video out here. There were so many of our favourite classic cars, supercars and hypercars here, but this event is known for being focused mainly on the rare classic cars (our favourites).
The vibe here is leisurely, you can see everything in 1-2 hours, but for me I was there all day, taking in the beautiful cars, photographing, videoing, talking to owners and TVR and Alpine who had their new cars on display, and rather nice those cars are. I cannot wait to take a test drive in the Alpine 110 and the 2019 TVR Griffith.
