I have been to many shows but not this one. Seems I am missing out from what I have read! Any car to drive to the event? Gosh that is tough but I am going to plump for a Mercedes Benz 300 SL Roadster (W198) – just to arrive in style amongst the mundane of modern life.

  • Will Wynn says:

So sorry to hear you had to let the Lancia Integrale go. What a car.

  • Carolyn says:

Really would love to go to see the wheeler dealers as love Edd China’s restorations, and my hubby recently had to sell his Lancia integrale so it will be a nice birthday treat pick me up for him and our son too, as their birthdays are 4th and 6th November.

The Classic car show at the NEC is simply a must do event every year for any car fan.The quality of classic cars on display leaves me speechless and if i could choose any car to travel in it would be a open top Bentley Blower and i would brave the 200 mile round trip journey with the biggest smile on my face regardless of the british weather.

  • Paul Davis says:

Would love to go again to this, kids love the wheeler dealer stage and I just love the massive range of cars on show! As to what car to travel to it in, a Lamborghini Muira would do the job perfectly!

I’d like to attend the show as being around all those classic cars reminds me of my grandad.
We spent a lot of time working together on his red mk2 jag and his mgb gt.
I used to spend hours cleaning the wire wheels on them both . I now own 3 mg’s myself . He died when I was 18 now 53 all ways feel close to him when round classic cars. It would have been perfect to take him round the show two car nutters together.
My dream car to come home in would be no surprise a red mk2 jag . In honour of jim my grandad.

  • Adam Taylor says:

I’d love to treat my Dad to a day of drooling over his (and my) favourite classics, preferably whisked there in a Mk 1 E-Type as I’m a Cov kid!

  • Rene says:

I’d like to visit the show so I can see the amazing cars and chat with their proud owners. The car I would love to travel there in would be a Mercedes 300sl gullwing or a 1967 corvette coupe

  • Gary Middleton says:

This is always my favourite car show. I love looking round and looking at all the great cars over the years and all the ones we have forgotten about too. I also like to see how cars we took for granted years ago have now turned into classics. It’s great to see cars you owned yourself years ago are still loved.

It has to be an E Type Jag for me. A true classic which will always look great.

does the delorean from back to the future count as a classic car? if so, that one. if not, then chitty chitty bang bang (flying away from the childcatcher!)

  • Will Wynn says:

    Hi Jane,

It sounds like you really love George. That’s what passion for classic cars is all about. All the best. Will

  • Jane Fern says:

I love The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, it’s my favourite and local too. My first choice of classic to take me there and hopefully bring me back again would be my 1969 VW Beetle ‘George’! The ‘money no object’ caveat doesn’t make a difference, I would pick my classic everytime. If I was lucky enough to win a pair of tickets I could even treat George to some presents with the admission money I would have saved by winning.

  • dawn bell says:

My son has just passed his test and is drooling over classic cars (he has my old Yaris at the moment!) I reckon he’d choose a Ferrari of some kind. Me? I’d go in a green Morris Minor. I can still remember the reg of my dad’s first car (a Minor), but I can’t remember the reg of my current car! That’s age for you……

  • Ian says:

I would love to attend the show to have the opportunity to view the fabulous classic cars. As for driving a classic I would love to drive the truly historic T Ford

  • Will Wynn says:

Hi Nick, the Ferrari Daytona is one very cool car indeed. Good choice.

  • Nick Tooley says:

I’d like to attend to see some of the most amazing cars around and as I’m ageing into a classic myself (retiring soon) it might be my chance to own one.

If I could travel to and from the event I’d drive a Ferrari Daytona (365 GTB/4 – my favourite car since I was 10!!
