Goodwood Revival on ITV in September & October

The Goodwood Revival Meeting will appear on television four times in September on the ITV network as part of a quartet of high-octane shows that will showcase the very best of motoring at Goodwood.

Goodwood-RevivalThe hour-long programme, which has been produced by Aurora Media, will bring the very best of the action from this year’s 18th running of the Revival to the small screen.

Three-time Indy 500 winner and four-time IndyCar Series Champion Dario Franchitti and FIA Formula E pit reporter and Goodwood regular Nicki Shields will host the highlights show, which will feature the very best moments from the world’s largest historic motor racing and vintage culture event.

The show will be broadcast on ITV4 on Tuesday, 22 September at 2100 and will be repeated on the same channel at 1040 on Saturday, 26 September and on Sunday, 27 September at 1930. ITV’s main channel will screen the show on Wednesday, 30 September at 0020.

The featured races will be the star-studded opening part of the St Mary’s Trophy presented by Cazenove Capital Management – acknowledged as possibly the most exciting race ever witnessed at Goodwood – the RAC TT Celebration race for 1960s GT cars and the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy for 500cc GP bikes of the 1960s.

Franchitti gives you a drivers-eye view as he drives his hero Jim Clark’s Lotus 25 alongside Sir Jackie Stewart in a very special track demonstration and, chats to Shelby Daytona Coupe designer Peter Brock on the 50th anniversary of his creation’s World Sportscar title and meets ex-McLaren team manager Alastair Caldwell as part of Goodwood’s celebration of the life of Bruce McLaren.

Shields takes part in a mammoth parade of pre-1966 Land Rovers, takes in the atmosphere of the Revival with a trip to the 1960s Tesco on Revival High Street and joins John Sergeant as he runs the rule over the Spitfires and Hurricanes in the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation exhibition.

Three further shows will also be broadcast. Goodwood: Cars of the Future is a two-part programme with part one focusing on racing cars at 2100 on Monday 21 September and repeated at 0940 on Saturday, 26 September and 1830 on Sunday, 27 September and part two featuring road machinery at 2100 on Monday 28 September and repeated at 0100 on Friday, 2 October, 1310 on Saturday, 3 October and 1900 on Sunday, 4 October.

One final programme, Goodwood: Classic Cars will air on Tuesday, 29 September at 2100 and repeated on Thursday, 1 October at 0055, on Saturday, 3 October at 1410 and on Sunday, 4 October at 2000.
