2012 Donington Historic Festival – in pictures.
The 2012 Donington Historic Festival on 5th and 6th May 2012 was bigger and better than the previous year. I took my boy again and he loved it, and he especially loved the 1:18 scale Lamborghini Aventador spider he bought (with my money of course), and the Tic Tac Group C racing car (below).
We were treated to a spectacular display of racing action, off-track entertainments and even an unexpected day of sunshine on the Sunday…
I’d suggest a few improvements that could be made for next year. First I’d like to have more trade stalls, as there were too few for my liking. Also no ATMs on site, although could get cash from the Donington kiosk, lucky.
There were more cars on display than last year, I reckon 20-30% more. There were three activities for children, trampoline bungee jumper (sure it’s not called this, but you get what I mean I hope), bouncy castle, and an enclosed bouncy play centre. Still feel they have missed a trick here. It’s a car event, so why not gave an electric go-karts or similar.
Here’s a selection of the 400+ photos I took. Don’t worry there are only 56 here.
