Ottocast Screen – The Portable Car Display Screen

Today we had the privilege of testing and trying out the new Ottocast screen. We thoroughly enjoyed playing with the new product which really enhances the in-car entertainment experience.

Let’s go through it by evaluating the following areas:

What is it and why would you want it?

The screen itself is wide, and measures a generous 11.4” screen, which is fully portable and can easily be tucked away when out of use. The screen itself Is well laid out, and offers passengers the luxury of watching movies and listening to music, all channelled through the in-car stereo.

Whilst I would certainly dissuade drivers whilst operating the vehicle to watch content from the touch screen device, it comes into it’s own for drivers who may wish to browse, and consume content during a pit-stop.

Feel

Receiving the box, the outer and inner packaging, plus the product itself are all incredibly premium. It doesn’t feel or appear that there are any cheap compenents used here. The screen is fully touchscreen, and feels robust for use on the go.

Price

Priced at quite a reasonable price of $149, it feels a good and fair price. Given the premium feel, we rate this product 8/10, and recommend it for all drivers, especially those with regular passengers, and teenage children. With so many apps, and such a large screen, it feels very good value for the entertainment experience it offers.

Connectivity / SImplicity

I was astonished at how easy it was to set up. Connecting to my phone took approximately 20 seconds, and couldn’t have been easier. Perfect for technophobes, those of us lacking patience (me).

Once I was connected the screen and layout are laid out as we expect with various apps on display, ranging from Netflix, and Spotify, to Apple Car Play. In fact there are so many apps, it was incredibly easy.

Summary

We recommend this in-car entertainment screen for its fair price, but mostly for the experience and simplicity it offers. The premium feel really helps drive the benefit of an enjoyable experience, being ultra portable, where you can just plug and go. Perfect for only cars, but boats and trucks too.
