10 Unusual and Super-Special Cars at Salon Privé 2025

We attended Salon Privé 2025 on Wednesday 27th September, the day dedicated to 60 rare cars in the Concours. We also visited on Sunday 29th September, which focused on supercars and welcomed a variety of car clubs to the North Lawn, while the South Lawn was transformed with supercar club displays.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of the wonderful Salon Privé car show, and the organisers certainly put in some extra effort with the setup.
Here are 10 of my favourite cars that stood out as unusual, rare, and rarely seen – if ever. Let me know what is your favourite here. In no particular order:
1936 Mercedes-Benz 500K Spezial Roadster by Sindelfingen

What a super cool car. The 1936 Mercedes-Benz 500K Spezial Roadster by Sindelfingen featured in Class A – Pre-War Open. This beautiful car was awarded Best of Show. Shown by The Auriga Collection, the rare pre-war Roadster also received the Most Exceptional Coachwork Award, impressing judges with its sweeping long-tail design and concours pedigree.
.
1956 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Coupé “Superfast” Prototype by Pinin Farina

I’d never seen this car before and on the day the car certainly got a lot of attention.
The 1956 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Coupé “Superfast” Prototype won Class K: Ferrari – The Prancing Horse, and People’s Choice awards. What a cool car. What do you think?

.
1952 Pegaso Z-102 Race Car (in striking red and yellow)

A very cool car. I love the design, colours and quirkiness.
The 1952 Pegaso Z-102 Race Car featured in Class I: Sports Racers and received an Honourable Mention.

.
1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ by Zagato

Such a cool car, and a car I’d love to drive. No award for the 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ by Zagato, but very cool and very rare. We love.

.
1930 Bentley 4½ Litre Supercharged by Gurney Nutting

What a beauty. Very cool.
The 1930 Bentley 4½ Litre Supercharged by Gurney Nutting featured in the Class B: Pre-war Sports, and won an Honourable Mention.

.
1933 Alfa Romeo 8C Monza by Carrozzeria Touring

Stunning. I love this era of car.
The 1933 Alfa Romeo 8C Monza by Carrozzeria Touring featured in the Class B: Pre-war Sports, and was the Winner.
.
1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlinetta by Vignale

Love this car. Super cool.
The 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlinetta by Vignale featured in Class J: Ferrari Race Cars from the 1950s and was the Winner. Well deserved.
.
1954 Ferrari 250 Monza Barchetta by Scaglietti

I’d so love to drive this beauty.
The 1954 Ferrari 250 Monza Barchetta by Scaglietti featured in the Class J: Ferrari Race Cars from the 1950s, and was awarded a Honourable Mention. Rightly so.
.
1964 Alpine M64

The 1964 Alpine M64 is a car I have never seen before and featured in Class I: Sports Racers, and was awarded Winner. A car I’d love to give a spin in the Alps.
.
Jaguar C-X75

Just stunning. A major travesty that Jaguar did not go through with making these. This Jaguar C-X75 has been reengineered, redefined and entirely reimagined by CALLUM. Once dubbed ‘the one that got away’, this is no replica or tribute, it’s a masterfully realised, one-of-one road going supercar that finally fulfils the C’X75s extraordinary promise.
