How Much Does a Bugatti Veyron Cost?
After acquiring the Bugatti brand in 1998, Volkswagen AG introduced the Veyron as a concept car next year at the Tokyo Motor Show. Named after the racing driver Pierre Veyron, the production started in 2005 and culminated in 2015, after Bugatti completed 450 examples of this superfast machine.
The initial price tag of the Veyron was $1.9 million, but the automaker introduced a number of special editions, some of which even cost double the starting amount. For instance, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Sang Noir came with a $3.4 million price tag. With even the $1.9 m price tag, the Veyron is the second cheapest Bugatti in the world.
Let’s discuss the most important features of this speed demon and talk briefly about its special editions.
Bugatti Veyron
Despite initial plans for a three-bank W18 engine, the Bugatti Veyron features an 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine, delivering nearly 1000bhp and 922 lb-ft of torque. It achieved a top speed of 253.81mph in 2005, using a ‘speed key’ to bypass the 213mph limiter. The 2010 Super Sport variant enhanced performance to 1183bhp. The Veyron boasts a robust braking system, adaptive suspension, and specially designed Michelin tires for high speeds. The luxurious interior, akin to a Bentley, includes leather upholstery, carbon fiber accents, and high-quality materials.
