Are you a Corvette fanatic? This year, the prestigious London Concours is raising a glass (or maybe a can of American craft beer) to a true automotive legend: the Chevrolet Corvette. Mark your calendars for June 4th-6th, because the Honourable Artillery Company grounds are about to be invaded by a spectacular display of ‘Vettes, spanning seven decades of glorious American muscle.

From Fins to Mid-Engines: A Corvette Spectacle

Partnering with the Classic Corvette Club UK and Classic and Sports Car, the Concours will showcase ten iconic Corvettes, each a chapter in the car’s fascinating story. Witness the birth of a legend with the sleek C1 of the 1950s, a chrome-laden embodiment of post-war optimism. Then, fast forward to the space age with the futuristic lines and iconic split-window of the C2 Sting Ray – the car astronauts like Neil Armstrong might have cruised around in after a long day on the moon.

The journey continues with the flamboyant C3, reflecting the groovy style of the 70s with its pop-up headlights and curvaceous body. Gearheads will appreciate the C4, a product of the 80s with its cutting-edge digital dash and lightweight composite panels.

Modern Muscle Meets European Rivals

The evolution doesn’t stop there. The C5, introduced in 1997, took performance to a whole new level with its refined suspension and powerful LS1 V8. It could finally hold its own against the likes of Ferrari, thanks to its high-tech dampers and blistering top speed.

The C6 and C7 continued the trend, pushing the boundaries of performance with supercharged variants like the 638bhp ZR1. These were now genuine American supercars, capable of exceeding 200mph.

A Revolution Under the Hood: The Mid-Engined C8

This move towards European supercar territory promises a thrilling new chapter in the Corvette’s history, with enhanced balance and agility.
