A look back at some of the greatest trucks of all time

Alongside the iconic cars people know and love is a strong selection of unforgettable trucks that many vehicle fanatics also remember fondly. After all, for drivers who can’t resist the lure of owning a beastly car, trucks tend to have all the power they require. Additionally, their capacity, capability, and the range of impressive features they tend to come with are another appealing aspect of trucks. 

While some car lovers perhaps aren’t won over by trucks just yet, it’s impossible to ignore their charm for millions of other people around the world. For many, their passion for trucks stretches far beyond owning these vehicles, which vary in terms of their size, power, and configuration. Some truck enthusiasts watch documentaries dedicated to trucks, such as Eddie Stobart Trucks and Trailers. There are truck-themed games with a sleek and stylish design that have them feeling like a true speed demon, such as in the Wild Trucks game, and people even get tattoos of their beloved trucks and wear a variety of merchandise dedicated to their favorite manufactures. 

In case you require further convincing, or you’re in need of a reminder of some of the most iconic trucks ever to come to the fore, then below is a look back at some of the greatest trucks of all time. It’s worth noting that we can’t feature them all, though. 

2008-2010 Hummer H3 Alpha

Many people have always wanted to Hummer. One of the most iconic options in this category is certainly the 2008-2010 Hummer H3 Alpha, a smaller version of the 2005 model. Boasting an impressive 5-cylinder engine, this miniature Hummer is filled with top-of-the-range features and possesses enough power to dominate highways everywhere. If you’re after a Hummer today, then you can certainly do a lot worse than the 2008-2010 Hummer H3 Alpha. 

2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) Rubicon

Jeep has produced some unforgettable vehicles over the years, and the 2003-2006 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) Rubicon is right up there with the very best of them. Launched in 2003, this second-generation favorite looks the part and packs one hell of a punch in terms of its power thanks to the presence of a 4.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine. Comfortable inside despite its compact size, other solid inclusions include its ultra-low gearing and its impressive 31-inch Goodyear mud tires. Overall, Jeep nailed this much-loved favorite truck lovers undoubtedly remember well. 

1978-1980 Ford Bronco

A famous name in the car world that actively made the move to sell us an image of great American freedom, mostly in the form of trucks and SUVs, Ford is a legendary brand that is responsible for faultless vehicles like the 1978-1980 Ford Bronco. Moving to the F-150 chassis, this refined classic offered a durable Dana 44 solid front axle. It contains a wonderful design, and it has been adored by truck lovers for decades.

1976-1977 Chevy Blazer Chalet

A magnificent truck that has been featured in movies and television shows of old, the 1976-1977 Chevy Blazer Chalet was extremely popular in the 1970s as people opened themselves up to the idea of camping and driving off-road. While this particular model is a rarer addition to the car, this stylish sleeper was still incredibly prevalent at the time. Whether or not you can find yourself this particular truck today is unknown, but somebody somewhere is probably treasuring their version of it. 

Special mention must also go to the 2010-2014 Ford SVT Raptor, the 1935-2014 Chevrolet Suburban, the 1994-2001 Dodge Ram, the 1979-85 Toyota Hilux pickup, the 1981-1985 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler, the 1990-1993 Chevy 454 SS, and the 1979-2014 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen.
