The NEW Osram ‘Night Breaker 200’ – Powerful Halogen Headlights

Hands up!! We started our journey here with an element of scepticism. We just assumed that lights are lights, bulbs are bulbs and not much consideration goes into a purchase like this. Simply a case of going to your local dealer, Halfords etc (other retailers do exist), to swap out your headlights you might think? In many cases this is true – but the reality is that a vast amount of research, technology and money goes into headlights – which is where we come to these.

The NEW Osram Night Breaker 200 Halogen headlights

In truth – these headlights are awesome. We tested the H7 variants (H4 and H11 variants are also available – so we’d recommend you checking which ones are suitable for you) and found them to be much paler and SOOO much stronger than my ‘manufacturer provided’ head lamps. After a brief read on the box, OSRAM promise that they ‘beam’ to 150 metres. We didn’t measure exactly, but are estimations give this a huge tick in the box.

So are they impressive?

These new OSRAM H7 Night Breaker 200 headlights seem like the real deal. Ultimately when selecting new headlamps, you’re looking for performance in:

• Colour

Whilst we can’t measure durability, we can measure against other cars on the road, and in this case specifically – my car. As mentioned above, the lights are indeed paler, which is the common trend these days, with white halogen lights exactly what drivers are opting for.

• Durability

We will just have to trust that they last for as long as OSRAM say they will. Given the top marks we’ve given them for pretty much every other category, we’d hedge our bets here and give them the benefit of the doubt.

• Strength & Beam

These lights are cutting edge, really exciting, and are just so powerful, and when compared with standard lights, are streets ahead. Not only do they reach further, without blinding oncoming traffic, but they provided a stronger, beam with greater and more consistent coverage. We were so impressed here!

Are they a good gift?

You might be thinking – head lights might not be the first choice on the gift list, but whether your loved one is a car enthusiast or not, and with Christmas coming up, these high performing halogen white headlights are seriously impressive, and are on sale for around £25-35 depending on the retailer. For that’s an absolute steal.
