The ten vehicles on this list are all extremely rare and expensive. The car manufacturers listed here are well-known for producing high-performance, high-priced, high-end vehicles. Once-offs, limited editions, special issues, and rare finds are the cars that are indeed the rarest and most expensive. These are the expensive cars owned by soccer players and A-list Hollywood actors. They speak for themselves; therefore, I’m not going to rabbit on anymore. Here you have it. 1. 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spider – If this car looks vaguely familiar, it’s because it’s similar to the one featured in the 1980s hit film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and it’s a gem, as evidenced by the $17.2 million auction sale of one. Only about 55 were ever produced, making this model one of the most desirable Ferraris on the market. So, if you’re in the market for a new car, don’t get your hopes up about getting one of these beauties.

2. 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO – There are numerous priceless, money-can’t-buy Ferraris, but the 250 GTO is the crown jewel. Launched in 1962, only 39 models were produced, contributing to the car’s current scarcity. It’s said that Enzo Ferrari himself approved those worthy of owning one, and even back in the 1960s, getting your hands on the keys was expensive. A mint condition original 1962 250 GTO fetches eye-watering sums today, with a model sold in 2018 fetching $48.4 million.

3. Maybach Exelero – The luxury and first-class excellence of a high-end car is combined with the silky-smooth performance of a sports coupé in the Maybach Exelero. It was designed by an Italian automaker, Stola, and Daimler Chrysler and debuted in Berlin in 2005. In terms of design, it is fair to say that it is one of the most unconventional and exciting Maybach models ever produced.

4. 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa – This race car was built in the 1950s and 1960s to provide racing pilots with a much more powerful engine than the 500 TRC. It is considered the Ferrari car company’s second rarest prototype.

5. 1970 Porsche 917 – The 1970 Porsche 917 and Steve McQueen go hand in hand because it was the car he drove in the film “Le Mans.” Aside from its Hollywood fame, the Porsche 917 was notable for its racecar appearance and mid-mounted flat-12 engine. There were only a few in production, and the car used in the film sold at auction for more than $14 million.

6. 1927 Bugatti Royale – The Royale came before the Veyron, and it was quite the beast. Ettore Bugatti, ever the visionary, envisioned the most luxurious car in the world – and one of the rarest cars – with 25 made to be marketed almost exclusively to royalty, of which there were far more in the 1920s. Unfortunately, due to the Great Depression, only seven cars were produced. Six are still in existence, as Bugatti is said to have crashed the seventh.

7. 1951 Jaguar XK120-C – When car enthusiasts consider the world’s rarest sports cars, the Jaguar XK120-C is hard to overlook. This rare Jaguar was a big hit on the racetracks. In the present day, Jaguar XK120-C vehicles are privately owned. The car was auctioned off for $13.2 million in California.

8. Spirit of Nemo – While the Spirit of Nemo is not a production car and was created for the film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, a street-legal version of the vehicle was made. At 21.65 feet long, Captain Nemo’s six-wheeled Nautilus car was kept in a movie memorabilia collection for many years after it was purchased from the production company. It was purchased in 2015/2016 and is currently being driven around the streets of London. This is one of the most outrageous vehicles we’ve ever seen.

9. Rolls Royce 15 HP – The Rolls-Royce 15 hp was the first car model produced in Manchester, England, by Charles Rolls and Henry Royce in 1904. Only one Rolls-Royce 15 hp is known to still exist, making it one of the world’s oldest and rarest automobiles.

10. 1955 Mercedes – One of the most iconic vehicles on this list is the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. Mercedes has introduced many vehicles since the 1950s, when the Gullwing was first produced, but the Gullwing remains the most expensive Mercedes ever built.
